The Harry Potter Spells Book Tag!

Guys! Guys! I’m doing the Harry Potter Spells Book Tag! Are you as excited as I am? Because I’m pretty excited!

This tag was created by Kimberly Faye Reads and I love it so much. Combining Harry Potter—the ultimate book series—with all of the other books is just a fantastic day of fantasticness. Don’t you think?

In case you don’t know, the tag uses spells, curses, and charms from the Wizarding World and applies them to a book lovers’ world. And I guess I’ll stop rambling and go ahead and get on with the tag.

An Upcoming Release You Wish You Could Get Your Hands on Right Now

Firstlife by Gena Showalter

There’s a giant list of these, but the one I am waiting for right now is Gena Showalter’s Firstlife. I love her YA books.

Favorite Series Starter

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

This first book completely blew me away. I actually won this book in a giveaway and I am so thankful for that, because otherwise, I probably never would have picked it up.

A Book That Gave You All The Warm Fuzzies

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Contemporary books don’t extend a lot of effort in order to give me the warm fuzzies, but this book made me feel endless fuzzies. I just want to snuggle with it!

A Book That Made You Ugly Cry

The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand

I didn’t want to go with the typical The Fault in Our Stars answer, so instead, I’m going with Cynthia Hand’s contemporary book. I think I sobbed through at least 60% of this one.

Bookish Hero or Heroine You Want Around to Protect You In Real Life

Alec from The Mortal Instruments Series

I know Alec is gay. Very gay. But I have been obsessed with him ever since the Shadowhunters TV show announced Matthew Daddario was going to play him. Now, I can barely contain my excitement any time he’s mentioned. Plus, he’s pretty bada$$.

A Book You Intentionally Spoiled For Yourself

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Do I even have to say why for this one?

A Book You Wish You Could Make Everyone Read Because You Loved It So Much

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

There are so many people in the world who haven’t read this book and I don’t understand why. It’s so beautiful and fantastic. I love everything about it, except how I want more.

A Book or Series You Wish Never Ended

The Dark Elements Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I love JLA’s books. LOVE them. So when this series ended, I was devastated. I love Roth (and he loves me, he just doesn’t know it yet), so to say goodbye to him for good was heartbreaking.

A Book With An Uplifting Ending or Message

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

This book made me cry so badly (not as much as TLTWSG, though), but it’s a great read about self-acceptance and experiencing new things.

A Book You Wish You Could Forget You Ever Read

Wrecked by Priscilla West

I loathed this book. I think I actually gave it two stars. I’d change it to one now. It was a cliché romance with ridiculous dialog and I hated every moment of it. It's also kind of ruined me for NA romance (in a bad way)

An Author Whose Books Always Get You Out Of A Slump

Anything by Meg Cabot

This is a tough one because I haven’t reread any books lately and I don’t have a go-to author for this. I think Meg Cabot’s books used to be my go-to reread books whenever I needed a kick in the rear, but I’m not sure.

A Swoon-worthy Hero

Cole from The White Rabbit Chronicles

I love Cole. He’s an awesome fighter with a bada$$ personality and a bad$$ body to match. What’s not to love?

A Book That Caused You To Stop Doing All Other Things Until You Finished It

The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Loves this book. Loves. It’s like my precious, only better, because there will be more books coming out and then I will have four preciouses.

A Book That Was Painful To Read

Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick

The storyline of this book was actually pretty good. What was painful was the ridiculous characters. “Oh, let’s go out into the blizzard instead of waiting in our car like rational human beings?” Or, “Oh, let’s invite ourselves into a cabin with two random guys in it when we’re two helpless girls?” Idiots.

A Book That Had You Laughing Out Loud

Cress by Marissa Meyer

I always forget whether or not a book made me laugh. That’s weird, right? But I do remember laughing quite a bit in Cress.

A Book That Made You Want To Send It Flying

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I was so disappointed by this book! I had such high hopes and they were dashed to little miniscule pieces! Maybe I’ll reread this once I’ve calmed down and it won’t be so bad, but right now, I just want to forget that it exists.

Bookish World You Wish You Could Visit

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, duh

If people don’t agree with me on this one, we seriously can’t be friends.

A Book With A Shocking End or Twist

The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

WTH, Pearson? How could you mess up my brain that much? I even knew something was going to happen and I still couldn’t get over how gullible I was.

A Character Death That Destroyed You

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

This is a total spoiler, so I won’t say who and why, but I think I bawled. A lot.

Best Series Conclusion

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

I enjoyed the books themselves, but that epilogue. Gawd. That thing was ridiculously good.

Whew! Well, I’m finished now. That took longer than I thought it would. Let me know what some of your answers are to these questions in the comments. And if you’ve already done this tag, send me a link and I’ll check it out.

  1. YES! I'm so happy you enjoyed the tag and that you did it! I agree with a lot of your answers – namely Harry Potter, Fangirl, Clockwork Princess (which had me BAWLING on a plane) and Allegiant. I also see a lot of books on here I want to read, but yet to have. One day... :)
