Stacking the Shelves: The Knight and the Moth Edition

"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It allows book buyers to share their accumulation of books with the online book-loving community.

This week feels like it's been chaos, even though it was a short work-week. I went to the Rachel Gillig signing last Saturday, ran errands and ate with my parents, worked out, etc., and of course, even though I thought work would be quiet, it was nuts for random reasons. It just seemed like everything was 10x more complicated than it needed to be. But, oh well. The weekend is here and that's all that matters.

First up in this week's haul, I have my two copies of The Knight and the Moth. The regular edition was the one I purchased with my ticket for the signing event, while the Barnes & Noble one was delivered right when I was two hours away meeting Rachel Gillig. B&N, your shipping sucks. But anyway, I'll have a recap post up for the event soon.

Next, I have my FairyLoot edition of The Ragpicker King by Cassandra Clare, and no, I have not read the first book yet. I figure I'll just buy all these and take the risk that I might not like them. Sigh. I have got to stop doing that. That's the goal for 2025, to read more FairyLoot sub books before buying the sequels. I also received my French edition of A Fire in the Flesh by JLA. FNAC ships so fast! This arrived like a day or two after it released on the 28th!

And finally, I have some ebooks. These are all from Kindle Unlimited, and they're all in the same series. It's the first three books in the Madison Kate series by Tate James: Hate, Liar, and Fake. Now, I actually read these one at a time, so I already returned Hate and Liar once I finished them. I haven't started Fake yet, though. I read these because Books for Days Crate is selling special editions, and I wasn't going to buy them if I hadn't read the book. Not sure I'm interested in buying physical copies anymore, though. The series isn't quite what I was hoping for.

Well, that's all for me. What books have you bought/received lately?

  1. It seems typical that the B&N book would arrive that same day! My B&N orders have gone back to arriving super late and getting delayed and lost! I had just gotten through declaring one lost with B&N and asking for a refund as I started an ARC of it and didn't like it and DNF'd it. But I had preordered using a gift card and wanted to get that money back to use for a book I did want! And it had been showing out for delivery in KC for like 5 days when it was supposed to come USPS. Finally get access to my funds on my gift card and lo and behold in today's mail is that very book. Now this week's release is still who knows where. It does look like it's at our distribution center of no return, so hopefully it comes by Tuesday. They say Monday, but I'm not holding my breath as they also said Friday and Saturday too! So yeah, B&N has not gotten their shtick together at all this year!

Besides Gillig's these are essentially new to me ones! I mean besides JLA's too! Lol. But yeah I have that problem of buying sequels before reading the first book too. The problem is if you like it, then you want matching copies! Or even in the case of standard books, you just want copies! I've a few that are likely OOP on some older UF series that I will be hurting to find when the time comes. I can only hope the ebook still exists at that point!

Hope you enjoy all of your lovely new reads!

My StS will be up tomorrow, stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!
