My Review

Is it weird to say that I vastly enjoy books about demons? I think it is. Sort of. Oh well...

This book was CA-RAH-HAZY. There was so much going on and I was all like “Woah!” and “Nuh-huh” and “Oh God, that didn’t just happen!!!”

This is the third book in a series, so if you haven’t read books one and two, Thrall and Incubus, you probably don’t want to read this review. There won’t be any plot spoilers, so if you want to stick around you can, but you might be a little confused.

Braedyn Murphy is a very kickass character. I think I’ve established that in my previous reviews of the series (To view them go here and/or here.). She may not make the smartest choices sometimes (What teenage half-demon does nowadays?), but she can fight like hell to rectify her wrongs. She did seem to grow up a lot in this book and I really enjoyed her character development.

There was a lot more interaction with some of the side characters in this book. Karayan, Cassie, and Royal were all featured quite heavily. And what’s great is that they weren’t always doing stuff that revolved around Lilitu. Quintenz had her characters studying for finals and eating food like regular human beings. That made me happy. It seems like sometimes authors forget their characters are people and that they need to take a break from all of the potential angst in a YA novel. The only bad thing about the side characters showing up more was that Lucas was in the book quite a bit less. I was kind of disappointed about that. Okay, I was very disappointed. But then…

THAT ENDING! OMG! I couldn’t believe Quintenz went there. But she did. And. I. Loved. It. I had no idea this book wasn’t the last one in the series. I was hoping for things to be all wrapped up. Little did I know that Braedyn and the gang are going to be together for at least two more books. So yeah, the plot of this book was insane and the ending had me freaking out. It totally made up for the small lull I had towards the middle of the story.

So, if you’re looking for a series that has a girl with weapons—who knows how to use them—and some evil ancient soul-sucking demons, read this series! Or, if you stopped after book one or two and haven’t gotten ahold of this book yet, GO GET IT!
