"Stacking the
Shelves" is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It allows book
buyers to share their accumulation of books with the online book-loving
community.
Work is really exhausting me. I am not an accountant, and suddenly, I'm having to do accounting things. Plus, continue my writing job. Blugh! If I could just fast-forward through the rest of 2024, that'd be great. I'm so stressed right now. It's actually affecting my daily life. I'm so mentally exhausted that it's hard to go to the gym or even read. I hate it. I hope it gets better soon. Otherwise, I'll just be stuck in this purgatory until January.
On to happier topics: this week's haul. First up, I have my FairyLoot editions of the last three books in the Vampire Academy series. I'm still not overly enthusiastic about these editions, but they are fun. I think it's the front dustjackets that just seem too meh to me. I like the reversible art, but they don't have the titles on them, so it's weird to use those instead. I don't know. I may not end up keeping these down the line, but for now, I have them.
Next up, I have the Arcane editions of Lady of Darkness and Lady of Shadows by Melissa Roerich. These editions are just okay. I'm interested in the books because the author is going to ApollyCon, but I think I'll purchase the paperback version to get signed instead. I'm not a fan of all the foiling on this one. I like simplistic foiling, not whatever this is. The naked book is pretty though. So there's that.
More books! My FairyLoot October Romantasy book came in. It's The Coven by Harper L. Woods. It's not a book I would've bought a physical copy of on my own, as dark academia isn't really something I gravitate towards, especially with professor love interests, but I figured FairyLoot would make a pretty edition so it'd be worth trying out. And I was right. The art is very pretty. My Barnes & Noble preorder of the Onyx hardcover by Jennifer L. Armentrout also arrived. And I also had an Amazon order of two of the Mediator books arrive. I'm thinking about replacing my current mass market paperbacks since they're so old, so I went ahead and got these while they were available. These books are getting harder to find online. Yikes.
And lastly for the physical stuff, I have another Amazon order that actually arrived with the two Mediator books. I didn't know Amazon could combine separate orders like that, but honestly, I'm not complaining. Yay for saving the trees. But yeah, my three Buffy Funko Pops arrived. There's Spike, Buffy, and Angel. And there's another B&N exclusive Spike that I need to get my hands on. I've been waiting for it to be available online, and I haven't seen it there. Boo.
As for the ebooks, I have two this week. One is The Nightmare Before Kissmas by Sara Raasch, which was a Kindle Unlimited download, and the other is Twelfth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth, which is a library Libby book that I really need to start reading before time runs out. I got this one because Illumicrate has a special edition for sale that I'm tentatively interested in. I just need to determine if the book is worth the price first.
Well, that's all for me. What books have
you bought/received lately?
