Can't-Wait Wednesday: The Princess Will Save You

"Can’t-Wait Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted over at Wishful Endings, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, what's really got my pages in a twist is...

The Princess Will Save You
(The Princess Will Save You #1)
Publication Date: July 7, 2020
Hardcover, 368 pages, Tor Teen
Genres: YA, Fantasy

A PRINCESS
A STABLE BOY
A QUEST

When her father dies, Princess Amarande is given an ultimatum: Marry the leader of one of the four neighboring kingdoms, or lose her crown—and possibly her life. And to force her hand, her beloved, the stable boy Luca, is kidnapped.

But Amarande was raised to be a warrior, not a sacrifice.

And nothing will stop her from saving her true love and rescuing her kingdom.

The acclaimed author of Sea Witch turns the classic damsel-in-distress tale on its head with this story of adventure, identity, and love.

My Thoughts

A gender-flipped The Princess Bride? Heck yes. The Princess Bride is my favorite movie of all time, so I have to read this book. Now, I’m not expecting much. I’ve seen some low ratings, and it doesn’t seem like this will be an amazing story with epic world-building. It seems more like a fun romp with cute characters. Kind of like Lindsey Duga’s Kiss of the Royal, which I very much enjoyed. Hopefully it’ll be a good, quick read between thick SFF books.

What book are you waiting for this Wednesday?

  2. Oh nice! Just saw this at my last blog visit! Lol! Edelweiss had this as DOWNLOAD NOW when I last checked. I refrained from downloading myself because one: I really want to read Sarah's other book on my TBR pile before starting a new one (silly reason, but I'm weird!) and two, I'm really enjoying my TBR readathon I've been doing lately! Lol.

Hope you love it too once you get to read it!

    1. Yeah, I'm staying far away from Netgalley and Edelweiss. They ruin my TBRs. Lol
