Pinterest Sunday: Fabric Book Covers

I have decided that Sundays will now be Pinterest days. What does that mean? It means every Sunday I’ll be sharing a bookish craft with you all that I found on Pinterest.

Obviously, none of these craft ideas were created by me, and I’ll give the creator the credit he or she deserves. I just want to share some cool and fun—and maybe even new—craft ideas with you. And maybe I’ll even scrounge up the willpower to actually do the craft one day. Who knows?

The craft I want to share today was posted by Marelize over at Stitch by Stitch. This fabric book cover is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and it looks easy to do. As you can see in the picture below:

I always want to take a book with me, but I’m afraid of injuring my books, especially paperbacks. While this type of fabric book cover wouldn’t work for paperbacks, it would definitely allow me to take my hardback books around campus so I can read between classes or work. I have some fabric I could use to make this, I just need to get on it.

I like the way these look, but I think I may approach the creation a little differently. I don’t plan on using anything but thread and fabric. Mostly because I don’t have an iron or know what that other stuff she mentions is.

If you can think of any other cool book cover ideas I should mull over making, you should let me know.

What do you guys think? Yay? Nay? Maybe? Sound off in the comments.

Also, if you’d like to follow me on Pinterest, you can do so here. Or, if you just want to check out what bookish crafts I have saved so far, you can go here.
