Cover reveals! So many! GAH!
Fire Walker
by Josephine Angelini
Worlds divide, magic slays, and
love lies in the second book of Josephine Angelini’s The Worldwalker Trilogy.
"You think I’m a monster,
but my choices, as ruthless as they seem, are justified."
Lily is back in her own universe,
and she's ready to start a new life with Rowan by her side. True, she almost
died in the Pyre that fueled their escape from New Salem, and must hide her
magic for the safety of everyone she cares about, but compared to fighting the
Woven, the monstrous creatures inhabiting the alternate Salem, life is looking
pretty good.
Unfortunately, Lillian, ruthless
ruler of the 13 Cities, is not willing to let Lily go that easily. If she can’t
persuade Lily to return to her world, she will force her to come back by doing
away with the ones she loves.
Picking up right where Trial By
Fire left off, Firewalker is another sexy, fast-paced, heartbreaking thrill
ride from internationally bestselling author Josephine Angelini!
My Thoughts
So… It’s a cover change. Grr… I’m glad that they kept the
same typeface. Other than that, I think everything’s too flashy.
Legacy of
Kings by Eleanor Herman
Imagine a time when the gods turn
a blind eye to the agony of men, when the last of the hellions roam the plains
and evil stirs beyond the edges of the map. A time when cities burn, and in
their ashes, empires rise.
Alexander, Macedonia’s
sixteen-year-old heir, is on the brink of discovering his fated role in
conquering the known world but finds himself drawn to newcomer Katerina, who
must navigate the dark secrets of court life while hiding her own mission: kill
the Queen. But Kat’s first love, Jacob, will go to unthinkable lengths to win
her, even if it means competing for her heart with Hephaestion, a murderer
sheltered by the prince. And far across the sea, Zofia, a Persian princess and
Alexander’s unmet fiancĂ©e, wants to alter her destiny by seeking the famed and
deadly Spirit Eaters.
Weaving fantasy with the
salacious and fascinating details of real history, New York Times bestselling
author Eleanor Herman reimagines the greatest emperor the world has ever known:
Alexander the Great, in the first book of the Blood of Gods and Royals series.
My Thoughts
Swords on covers seems so unoriginal, but I’m digging this.
I just wish the font was a little flashier.
Queen of
Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
Sarah J. Maas's New York Times
bestselling Throne of Glass series reaches new heights in this sweeping fourth
volume.

has been taken from her. But she's at last returned to the empire—for
vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of
her past . . .

warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a
young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people,

Celaena’s epic journey has
captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth
volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate,
agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.
My Thoughts
It’s pink! And I like it! Well, I’m not 100% in love with
the bulky armor, but hey, it’s armor. It’s supposed to be that way.
The Rose
Society by Marie Lu
From New York Times bestselling
author Marie Lu comes the second book in the exhilarating Young Elites series
Once upon a time, a girl had a
father, a prince, a society of friends. Then they betrayed her, and she
destroyed them all.
Adelina Amouteru’s heart has
suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter
path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she and her sister
flee Kenettra to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army
of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked
soldiers that murdered her love, the Crown Prince Enzo Valenciano.
But Adelina is no heroine. Her
powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She
does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the
Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger
Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to
the good within her. But how can someone be good, when her very existence
depends on darkness?
My Thoughts
I haven’t read The
Young Elites so I have no idea what this cover actually means. It’s pretty though.
Winter by
Marissa Meyer
Here is the stunning conclusion
to the national bestselling Lunar Chronicles, inspired by Snow White.
When Princess Winter was
thirteen, the rumor around the Lunar court was that her glamour would soon be
even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana. In a fit of
jealousy, Levana disfigured Winter. Four years later, Winter has sworn off the
use of her glamour altogether. Despite her scars, Winter’s natural beauty, her
grace, and her gentleness are winning admiration from the Lunar people that no
amount of mind-control could achieve.
Winter despises her stepmother,
but has never dreamed of standing up to her. That is, until she realizes that
she may be the only one with the power to confront the queen.
Can Cinder, Prince Kai, Scarlet,
Wolf, Cress, Thorne, Princess Winter, and the palace guard Jacin find their
happily ever afters? Fans will LOVE this amazing conclusion to the series.
My Thoughts
I understand that this picture represents the apple from Snow
White. BUT, it’s kind of Twilight-ish.
Plus, I think it’s ugly. The blue and reddish-pinkish colors do not mix well
and it just looks fake. Cress had
such a cool color, but I’m disappointed in this one.
This has nothing to do with the cover, but did you know that
this book is going to be 800 pages long? It’s going to look so weird on my
shelves, sitting next to the other books in the series. I kind of wish they
would have separated it into two 400-page books instead.
Frozen Tides
by Morgan Rhodes
Rebels, royals, and monsters wage
war over the Mytican throne in the shocking fourth book of the Falling Kingdoms
series, from New York Times bestselling author Morgan Rhodes.
CLEO: Reeling after a bloody
showdown in Limeros ending with Amara’s abduction of the water crystal, and a vacancy
in the Mytican throne, Princess Cleo must cast aside her feelings and look
toward her kingdom with the eyes of a Queen.
MAGNUS: With the kingdom in
chaos, Princess Lucia still missing and quite possibly in danger, and a
shocking realization about Cleo, the steely prince is once again torn between
love and duty, leaving him wondering whether he’s strong enough to rule his people.
LUCIA: The young sorcercess has
had her vengeance after the cruel death of her first and only love. Heartbroken
and unable to trust anyone, she allies with the awoken Fire god, who also seeks
revenge.
JONAS: After escaping death by
the skin of his teeth, the defeated rebel—along with a mysterious
stranger–leader reunites with Princess Cleo, only to find himself a mere pawn
in a dangerous hunt for the elusive Kindred.
KING GAIUS: Abandoned by Melenia
and betrayed by his own children, Gaius flees Mytica and sails to Kraeshia,
where he attempts to ally with the famously brutal emperor across the Silver
Sea.
My Thoughts
LOVE IT! There is finally a girl on the covers of this
series! Okay, so I’ve heard that Cleo is supposed to be on book one’s cover,
but that does not in any way look like Cleo so I say it’s a guy. Who? I have no
idea. But this one, even though it has my least favorite character smack dab in
the middle of the cover, it’s still beautiful! The white background with the
green and the fire! EEK!
Soundless by
Richelle Mead
From Richelle Mead, the #1
internationally bestselling author of Vampire Academy and Bloodlines, comes a
breathtaking new fantasy steeped in Chinese folklore.
For as long as Fei can remember,
there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent
avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at
the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo,
a mysterious faraway kingdom.
When villagers begin to lose
their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home,
the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under
threat of darkness and starvation.
But soon Fei is awoken in the
night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.
Richelle Mead takes readers on a
triumphant journey from the peak of Fei’s jagged mountain village to the valley
of Beiugo, where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life
forever...
My Thoughts
I barely found out Richelle Mead was writing a standalone
book before this cover was revealed. And, it’s odd. The cover itself is pretty,
I’m just not used to Richelle Mead’s YA books having anything but just faces on
them.
Nexis by A.L.
Davroe
In the domed city of Evanescence,
appearance is everything. A Natural Born amongst genetically-altered
Aristocrats, all Ella ever wanted was to be like everyone else. Augmented,
sparkling, and perfect. Then…the crash. Devastated by her father’s death and struggling
with her new physical limitations, Ella is terrified to learn she is not just
alone, but little more than a prisoner.
Her only escape is to lose
herself in Nexis, the hugely popular virtual reality game her father created.
In Nexis she meets Guster, a senior player who guides Ella through the strange
and compelling new world she now inhabits. He offers Ella guidance,
friendship…and something more. Something that allows her to forget about the
“real” world, and makes her feel whole again.
But Nexis isn’t quite the game
everyone thinks it is.
And it’s been waiting for Ella.
My Thoughts
I’m not quite sure what I think of this one yet. It reminds
me of a romance novel, but the background is very pretty.

Drool.. Drool...Drool.....oh, how I love cover reveals! I do like the cover of cover of Fire Walker, BUT, it doesn't match Trial by Fire at all (except for the font). It's very...purple. Winter is gorgeous and so is Soundless.
ReplyDeleteYes, Fire Walker is very purple. And normally I like purple, but not the vibrant eye-hurting kind. :)
