My Review:
Be warned, spoilers may lie here.
I've been putting off this review for a looooong time. Not because I didn't enjoy the book. I did, thoroughly. But because I couldn't express why I enjoyed it or even the few things that I didn't necessarily like about it without being A) spoilery and B) too confusing. So I'm going to try and keep this as short as possible.
Ash is a hunk. He's dedicated and sexy and a fighter and sexy and gorgeous and sexy. How's that for a run-on sentence? His journey to make himself mortal is tear-jerking. All he wants is to be happy with the love of his life. Aww... Of course Puck has to come along on the ride and make some funnies along the way. So while Ash is busy sulking with only his hotness to keep him company, we have the pleasure of having Puck make corny comments and jokes.
The plot of the book was just one long journey. Ash had to find a way to get to be with Meghan, that's all there was to it. So the whole story went really fast. There was no stopping. However, there is a scene towards the end of the book that will have you absolutely bawling your eyeballs out, and if you don't at least have watery eyes at the end of it, then you have no soul. Just saying.
The one thing that I didn't like about this book was Arielle. While it didn't take away from Meghan and Ash's romance, it did seem to split it. There was too much focus on what happened to them and not the fact that Ash was supposed to be over her and on his way to be with Meghan.
So, if you haven't read The Iron King, what the heck is wrong with you?! Go pick it up and then grab the other two so that you can get your stubby little hands on this book!
