Which Team Are You? : The Outlander Edition

I basically just post a book series every week and have people vote on what team they are. I know the YA Sisterhood does the YA Crush Tournament, but I just want to find out how much you guys like one love interest over another, in one series.

Last week's poll was over Team Dean or Team Sam from Supernatural. Team Dean won!

So for this edition of “What Team Are You?” I’m going to ask you who your pick of hunky man-flesh is from the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

You can choose from:

1)      Jamie

or 2) Frank

I’m Team Jamie. I mean, just look at him! If you had to choose one, who would it be, and why? If you haven’t read the books that are out right now or seen the show (That’s all I’ve done.), who do you think sounds more appealing from the Outlander summary below.

The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an “outlander”—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of Our Lord...1743.

Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, and shatter her heart. For here James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire—and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

Stacking the Shelves: The Merry Christmas to Myself Edition

"Stacking the Shelves" is a weekly haul meme that is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It allows book buyers to share their accumulation of books with the online book-loving community.

I bought some Christmas gifts for my roommates, so naturally I had to add some books to that order. ;)

The Darkest Touch by Gena Showalter (My mom actually bought this one for me.)
Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout
·         Exquisite Captive by Heather Demetrios
·         Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

I’m so excited to read all three of these! Unfortunately, that won’t be until my classes are over. *sigh*

I also am exchanging Snow Like Ashes. It's ripped really badly. Amazon was super nice about it though and my new copy should be here sometime today.

Waiting on Wednesday: Lion Heart by A.C. Gaughen

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, what's really got my pages in a twist is...

Lion Heart
(Scarlet #3)
Publication Date: May 19, 2015
Hardcover, 304 pages, Bloomsbury
Genres: Historical, Young Adult

The eagerly-awaited conclusion to the Scarlet trilogy delivers another action-packed and romance-filled adventure.

Scarlet has captured the hearts of readers as well as the heart of Robin Hood, and after ceaseless obstacles and countless threats, readers will finally find out the fate of the Lady Thief.

Imprisoned by Prince John for months, Scarlet finds herself a long way from Nottinghamshire. After a daring escape from the Prince's clutches, she learns that King Richard’s life is in jeopardy, and Eleanor of Aquitaine demands a service Scarlet can’t refuse: spy for her and help bring Richard home safe. But fate—and her heart—won’t allow her to stay away from Nottinghamshire for long, and together, Scarlet and Rob must stop Prince John from going through with his dark plans for England. They can not rest until he’s stopped, but will their love be enough to save them once and for all?

My Thoughts

I just finished Lady Thief a few months ago and I really want Lion Heart! Must know what happens!

Which Team Are You? : The Winchester Edition

I basically just post a book series every week and have people vote on what team they are. I know the YA Sisterhood does the YA Crush Tournament, but I just want to find out how much you guys like one love interest over another, in one series.

Last week's poll was over Team Harry or Team Ron from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Team Harry won!

So for this edition of “What Team Are You?” I’m going to ask you who your pick of hunky man-flesh is from something that is not a book. Which team are you from Supernatural?

You can choose from:

1)      Dean

or 2) Sam

I’m Team Dean (I think that’s pretty obvious if you follow my blog at all. Hee…) basically because he’s a) loyal, b) so freakin’ sexy (His face is so aesthetically please!) c) he looks good covered in grease, and d) he’s hilarious! If you had to choose one, who would it be, and why? If you haven’t watched the TV show (How DARE you!?), then who do you think sounds more appealing from the Supernatural summary below:

Supernatural features stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki as Dean and Sam Winchester, two brothers who travel the country looking for their missing father and battling evil spirits along the way. Sam Winchester is a college student bound for law school, determined to escape his family's past - unlike his older brother, Dean. Ever since they were little their father has been consumed with an obsession to find the evil forces that murdered his beloved wife, in result recruiting and training his two young sons to help him in revenge. They have grown up as hunters of the supernatural. Sam escaped under the premise of going to college, and now has a happy life with his girlfriend, Jessica, and a promising future career. Dean, however, stayed behind with his father to join him in his "hunting". Dean goes to Sam for help when their father goes missing. Now Sam must join his brother to find him. His one weekend trip to search for the missing John Winchester becomes an ongoing quest after a horrible tragedy ruins any thought of a happy life for Sam. The two brothers, bound by tragedy and blood to their mission, travel across the country encountering terrifying and dangerous forces most believe to be nothing but superstition and folklore, such as the Lady in White, the Indian beast known as the Wendigo, Phantom Travelers who cause plane crashes, Bloody Mary, vampires, demons and many more. From Warner Bros. Television Production Inc. in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers McG (Charlie's Angels, The O.C.), writer/executive producer Eric Kripke (Boogeyman) and Robert Singer (Midnight Caller).

My dad came up and bought me a book. Otherwise I wouldn't have a post for you today. Yay! Gotta love him.

Waiting on Wednesday: An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

This week, what's really got my pages in a twist is...

An Ember in the Ashes
Publication Date: April 28, 2015
Hardcover, 464pages, Razorbill
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult

Set in a terrifyingly brutal Rome-like world, An Ember in the Ashes is an epic fantasy debut about an orphan fighting for her family and a soldier fighting for his freedom. It’s a story that’s literally burning to be told.

LAIA is a Scholar living under the iron-fisted rule of the Martial Empire. When her brother is arrested for treason, Laia goes undercover as a slave at the empire’s greatest military academy in exchange for assistance from rebel Scholars who claim that they will help to save her brother from execution.

ELIAS is the academy’s finest soldier— and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias is considering deserting the military, but before he can, he’s ordered to participate in a ruthless contest to choose the next Martial emperor.

When Laia and Elias’s paths cross at the academy, they find that their destinies are more intertwined than either could have imagined and that their choices will change the future of the empire itself.

My Thoughts

Another fantasy book? SIGN ME UP! Brutal Rome-like worlds? GIVE ME AN ARC! Pretty please?

Which Team Are You? : Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

I basically just post a book series every week and have people vote on what team they are. I know the YA Sisterhood does the YA Crush Tournament, but I just want to find out how much you guys like one love interest over another, in one series.

Last week's poll was over Team Jeremiah or Team Conrad from Jenny Han’s The Summer I Turned Pretty series. Team Conrad won!

So for this edition of “What Team Are You?” I’m going to ask you who your pick of hunky man-flesh (It feels weird describing these characters like this…) is from The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.

You can choose from:

1)      Harry

or 2) Ron

I actually don’t have a team here. I mean I think it would have been cool if Harry and Hermione got together, but Ron and Hermione are cute together. If you had to choose JUST one, who would it be, and why? If you haven’t read the books (How is that even possible!?), who do you think sounds more appealing from the The Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone summary below.

Harry Potter has never played a sport while flying on a broomstick. He's never worn a Cloak of Invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry's room is a tiny cupboard under the stairs, and he hasn't had a birthday party in ten years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to a wonderful place he never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that's been waiting for him... if Harry can survive the encounter.
